BIRDS OF PREY
Another busy afternoon heading north of the city with the photo club to visit a rescue centre for birds of prey. We were hoping to capture birds in flight but it wasn't available today although we did see some flying about including this Nankeen Kestrel. Some of the birds that had been released continue to reside close to the rescue centre and even nesting directly overhead.
We were able to feel the soft feathers of some of the owls.
Extras:
1. Boobook Owl;
2. Tawny Frogmouth;
3. Barn Owl;
5. New Holland Honeyeater (captured on my walk this morning) and
6. A kite (and I'm unfamiliar with the species - not the best shot).
I will catch you later tonight or in the morning.
Thank you to all who wished MrD a happy birthday - he was pretty pooped by the time he hit the hay.
