Fox and cubs

Today I noticed the appearance of this orange hawk bit for the first time this year and I thought it looked beautiful amongst the lacy white pig nuts. This is the second year that N has delayed cutting the grass around the fringes of the garden and it is lovely to see all the different wild flowers that are growing in number. Nature has made a much better job of planting than I could ever do.
When I was out walking with Bertie through the woods in the morning, I had the most delightful experience. A family of gold crest fledglings were flitting about the hazels, some very close to me making their high-pitched tweeting almost deafening. I was mesmerised by them and enjoyed several minutes in their company while Bertie snuffled in the undergrowth.
In the afternoon, I was at the church where folk from the village have been bringing flowers for our first flower festival in quite a few years. It looks beautiful with flowers and foliage that have been gathered from gardens and hedgerows rather than shop-bought flowers. While there, I met fellow Blipper Eldora whom I have just recently discovered on Blip and it was lovely to meet face to face.
