Il Laghetto di San Benedetto

We cycled through the forest along the Aniene river from Subiaco to Trevi nel Lazio. We stopped along the way to visit the little lake of St. Benedict…which is more like a swimming hole beneath a cascade of water. When it was really hot later in the day, I tried to call up the memory of our morning visit to this lovely spot in the cool shade with the rushing water.
