I had a busier day today work wise so whilst Mt took AR to the chocolatarium (which she loved….she’s been reading Charlie and the chocolate factory!), N took Mx to the park and A packed to go south to visit her friend and go to a festival.
More meetings for me in the afternoon, with AR occasionally appearing with me on screen to show people her drawings. Once I’d finished we went bowling and enjoyed it…AR desperate not to use the ramp so staggered around with the heavy balls and dumped them onto the rink….amazed there wasn’t a huge bump where she dropped them! It’s been ages since I’ve been bowling and thank goodness for the bumpers down the gulleys! Good laugh though.
We stopped at the Art College to drop in at the graduate show opening. Lovely to see people and AR was delighted when she got great feedback on her Carrot and Fish illustrated story (‘great expression on the carrot’s face’, ‘excellent use of mixed media’), and thrilled to be offered a place when she’s older by the head of the illustration programme as well as the head of ECA…! Mx loved the big monster models but kept asking ‘Is this art’ as we went into each room….at one point (where there was spilled sand and some string on the floor) we weren’t sure of the answer!
Home later than we expected and Mx straight to bed but AR snuggled up to watch some trooping of the colour and fly past…she has to make a decorated jubilee hat for school on Monday so wanted to see some of what it was all about!
