Thursday

We took down a large bush this morning and spent the day chipping it. It was more of a task than we imagined and we shall have to continue tomorrow. 

At 8pm, we met Chris and Paula and walked to the top of Roundway Hill to watch the Beacon Lighting.

Our neighbour, Peter, is the new Mayor. This must have been one of his first events but the PA didn't work and we heard nothing. 

Lots of people had gathered. Even though all info suggested not bring a car, many did and they  proved  a nuisance. 

Seeing all the other beacons in the distance was a highlight.

We walked home via town and had a quick drink.
