I'm not a monarchist but the Platinum Jubilee is a historic occassion and so I went to see the town's beacon being lit.

Like other events in the town it served to provide an oppertunity for people to gather and come together. I'm glad I went.

The rest of the day was mainly spent pottering about in house & garden save a visit to the local radio station to discuss the community bonfire in November.
