Ciarán's tree

Both the boys have hazel trees, bought by my dad (for reasons I won't go into on here)

John's is in the front garden, and Ciarán's is in the back by the pond.

The catkins look very good on them, and I'll be interested as to how big the actually trees will grow. I felt quite bad for how many trees I chopped down when we moved into house - about 3 in the back garden. However after a quick count I realised I have actually planted another 12 to make up for it (plus another 6 in the front).

I can imagine our house being very overgrown when we are old. With the house hidden in the middle of a suburban forest.

Fortunately, I don't think this one will grow too big.
