Egyptian walking onions

Here they are, the most unusual plants that I first stumbled upon yesterday.
A chilly ride to work this morning required warm gloves as I plunged downhill towards sea level. A jubilee/retirement party provided the fuel for a brisk 18 mile ride home with mostly a cross tailwind.
Unfortunately parts of the journey were spoiled by some very impatient drivers.
