In the Parade Ring
Today I, along with other representatives from my Council, had been invited to the County Show for a garden party and a parade of over 50 organisations that had been heavily involved in the response to the Covid pandemic in Staffordshire. Over 500 people were invited and during the afternoon we were all led into the main arena of the show, in a similar way to the presentation of teams at the Olympics, behind banners with our organisation's name. A quick thank you, the singing of the National Anthem and then we were able to go back and enjoy the sandwiches and cakes back at the marquee.
I'm not a great lover of being the centre of attention, but when there are so many of us all together it was OK and all of the representatives from our team agreed that we'd thoroughly enjoyed a slightly different sort of work day.
