Camera Shy

Ginny's Enemy No.1

Late entry for today's Blip.  I had a couple of poor examples of allotment flowers as I was rained off as I was taking them.  It turned out to be a short shower but I didn't want to hang around after managing a dry walk with Ginny.  Somehow the day slipped by with nothing else presenting itself until I heard a noise and caught sight of the brush of a squirrel tail up against my French door that opens onto the roof deck.  I carefully peeked out and it was sitting on the hip of the roof.  Ginny by now had seen it and was going mad to get out there but I moved her to another room and as my camera was close by with a telephoto lens on I thought I may as well take advantage of a bit of wild life two floors up from ground level on my roof...or, as Ginny likes to call it "Her Roof".  The thing seemed quite happy and then settled down on its haunches  to enjoy what appeared to be some high level sunbathing - must have seen me doing it and thought....how nice!
The extra gives a bit more perspective of high it is.  I know they scrabble about acrobatically in the treetops but it still seems a bit strange.  I do not feed the birds and so there is nothing here to attract them except I think they have buried food in my plant troughs and pots.  By how excited Ginny gets when let out onto the roof  I think that they are making daily visits.  Problem is that she is challenging the safety measures I have installed to make it a safe place for her - a Dachshund on this two-storeys-up steep roof would not be as agile as the squirrel.
