Magpie hunting

I saw this magpie swoop down with a great fluttering of wings.
I really hoped it was not after a small bird as I had seen that happen in the same spot some time ago.

Then it emerged with a mouse and flew off with it.

Gruesome, I know, but the mouse is not welcome and if the neighbourhood cats do not do the job, the magpie can.
