Stalking the Wild Butterfly

Lucas and I spent the afternoon by the river.  The Swallowtails put on a great show.  They were sucking up moisture and minerals from the rich sand to prepare for mating.  We tried to count them, but not disturb and it was a tough job.  Got to 30 once and lost track.  
Lucas is my mentee from the Vermont Mentoring Project.  He has turned 18 and graduates from high school in 10 days.  We are suppose to officially dissolve our friendship at that time...I don't think that is going to happen. I've know him since 5th grade, when he was a she.  We have gone through a lot together and there are more adventures to share in the future, I'm positive!
