TheTower

I haven't had much time today to think about a blip, but while I was out this evening I did take this photo of the Mount Batten artillery tower in Plymouth. The circular tower dates from 1652. It is named after Captain Batten, the Parliamentarian naval commander at Plymouth during the Civil War. It was once of important strategic importance, but is preserved now as a historic curiosity.
