Ardkinglas Woodland Gardens

We stopped to visit Ardkinglas Gardens on our way back home this morning.  These gardens are known for their “champion trees”.  Apparently their micro climate (warm and wet) enables trees to grow to great heights.  These special trees include a Grand Fir which has grown to half the height of St Paul’s Cathedral since it was planted in the 1800s
