Opilo mollis

A day at home for me, during which my computer upgrade was completed. Lots of space now for even more photographs!

Pete and Chris headed out to Paradise Willows CWS in the morning, a row of ancient pollards on the course of the Car Dyke. Their visit was cut short by rain, but they did find a few interesting invertebrates including Opilo mollis, a very local, mostly nocturnal species which spend much of their time hunting insects on the surface of old dry wood or under peeling bark but will also enter galleries in search of larvae and other small prey.
