Damselfly

Google took me to a page that tells me this is (probably?) a common blue.

I don't care how common it is if it means the new, still-to-be-planted-up pond is already proving attractive.

The nearest other water that I'm aware of is the canal across a field to the north and a burn (often suspiciously murky) running by the North walk on the Riccarton campus.
