Centranthus ruber 'Coccineus'

Whilst I'm sure most Blippers know this Latin name it's a new one to me, we've always called it Valerian but never taken the trouble until now to check it out.  There's a dazzling red show of it on the cliff edge at Seaham Harbour.  Even on (another) dull day like today it it brightens the place.
