boat on the beach, 1980

a bit of a cheat blip because this is a blip of a photo - but as we were all looking through old photos from mum and dad's loft this afternoon, I found it. managed to get a bit of info from the internet - it's the Ross Khartoum trawler that ran aground just along from balmedie beach in dec 1980 due to engine failure. it was later taken away and scrapped.

me and my dad walked all the way along the beach from newburgh to see it - which is quite a long way. I remember it being a loooong walk, but it was a nice day - and I think I got to climb up on to the boat. I was 6 here - peggy's age.

edit: dad told me this was actually august 1981 and I was 7 - so the boat was there for a while. the photo was taken shortly before we moved to brazil for a year.
