Jackdaw

Today I decided to make the most of the beautiful sunny weather and re-connect with blip. So I went on a cycle ride deep into Windsor Great Park as far as the Valley Gardens, to photograph the magnificent Magnolias there, as well as Camellias and Cherries, with a view to making them today's subject.

But as so often happens, something unexpected comes along ! And so it was today. There were a couple of Jackdaws hanging around a Sweet Chestnut, and it turned out that they were nesting in a hole in the trunk. Here is one of the pair waiting to go into the nest. It's not perfect, with the twig in front of the tail, but it's not a bad portrait of the bird.
