Grey Heron
The young one was waiting for me at the entrance to the park this morning. She had most of her whitebait then flew over to the edge of the loch. I went across and gave her another couple of bits then went in search of the male. The other female heron is rarely around in the morning. I found the male and gave him his pollock, I also gave the crow a piece of whitebait. I then went to get my weekly supply of fish. This afternoon the young one flew over to the edge of the water and found a gap in the irises. I gave her more whitebait then went in search of the male. I could not see the other female but the male was waiting for me as was the crow. I gave the crow a bit of whitebait and the male got a couple of pollock fillets and a fresh sardine. I kept some whitebait in case I spotted the female on the way out. It is just as well I did as she was walking up the path to meet me, much to the amazement of a cyclist who had got of his bike to photograph her. I gave her the whitebait then headed out homeward. I passed a squirrel on the way out but don't think it was the same one from yesterday. It got a Brazil nut anyway.
The extra is a very determined female heron walking towards me!
