Where did they come from?

I have a very healthy poppy plant that flowers beautifully year after year but the last time I looked, maybe a week ago, it consisted of lots of green leafy growth and nothing else. Now look what’s appeared. There are three partially open, scarlet flowers and lots of buds still to burst free. It is just lovely.

We had tea and biscuits after the service in Kilmore Church this afternoon. This is the first time in over two years and everyone really enjoyed taking time to chat over a cuppa.

I made a crab quiche for our evening meal but was a bit uncertain about it. I used a ready prepared dressed crab but found under the white and brown meat there was quite a heap of orange roe which greatly outweighed the rest of the meat together. I am always a bit wary when cooking seafood, although I love eating it if someone else has done all the hard work. In the end, the quiche turned out fine although I would have liked more white meat in it.
