A Peace-Filled Day

After a grueling week, I slept in today. Hubby was up before six; crazy man. He quietly took care of various admin and household chores. I enjoyed breakfast on my porch, listening to birds and drinking in the beauty before me. After puttering around the house, I sat down for “one minute” to answer a text. Thankfully, someone else sent me another text around 4:15 and woke me up. We hardly had time to eat “lunch” before we had to dress to attend 6:00 pm Mass at my mother’s church. My cousin, Father Bill, was in Baltimore on Franciscan business, so he came down to celebrate the Mass. It was the anniversary of 80 years since my mother’s elementary school graduation in that church. She and two others are all who remain from that class. As an aside, hubby lost a classmate this week. Thankfully, they had had a long chat on the phone a few days before he passed. We were giving the sign of peace when I snapped this blip. My sister gave me the “look” for taking pictures during Mass ;). Momma and her classmate can be seen in front of another cousin (who is hosting tomorrow’s picnic). There was also a high school at St.Michael’s where my parents met. Momma went on to graduate from business college in Baltimore/my father went to war. We came home after visiting with friends and relatives for a bit and will probably just have a small dish of ice cream for dinner. Sure hope your weekend had been as pleasant as ours and tomorrow should be just as nice. Thanks for the visit. No news today but prayers for a peace agreement continue. “Peace brings with it so many positive emotions that it is worth aiming for in all circumstances.” —Estella Eliot
