White beans in a jar

My only photo today, an empty jar of Spanish white beans, they were delicious and creamy, so much tastier than tinned beans.

A cool day but no rain so after 4 long weeks I mowed parts of the front and back lawns, leaving islands uncut as I have noticed blackbirds seeking insects in the longer grass.

Sad to hear of the death of Dervla Murphy whose books I enjoyed, I am re-reading Full Tilt. Also Horse racing legend Lester Piggott who also had a good innings despite a reported diet of champagne and cigars!
