Celebrating

So today saw a spontaneous celebration. 
Jennie and Adam were going to come to us late afternoon but Adam phoned middayish to say they'd come over early afternoon, if we weren't doing anything. We are never doing anything so that was fine. I did wonder why they were coming earlier as the weather wasn't hugely nice so there'd be no sitting out drinking all afternoon, but went with it. When they arrived he said they had a silly little present for us and if it was ok they'd film us opening it. Again thought a bit odd but went with it as it never occurred to me it would be anything other than a silly little present. 
Well on opening it we found 2 positive pregnancy tests. I'll be honest, it took me what seemed like forever to actually compute what they were telling us. Jennie is pregnant. (not sure I can get past what I've just written!) Obviously we are all absolutely delighted. It's very early days but she has said she is telling close friends and family a) because she wants to and b) if the worst were to happen she and Adam would need people's understanding, care and support. Absolutely not planned but nonetheless very much wanted. 
I've now lost my drinking partner for our last big family holiday in France and celebrating her 30th at the end of the year - both of which she was very much looking forward to drinking at. Think this is much better though. 
As I said - very early days - but I'm going to keep being positive because "what if everything turns out way better than you ever imagined"
