Camera Shy Sheep

I had noticed the sheep were in these grapevines and today I walked along the cycle trail that runs beside the vines to get a shot.  They would not play the game and turned and walked off whenever I got near.  So I give you this wide shot because I like the sloping line on the horizon.  I have a thing about seeing lines in the landscape.  It is the Moutere area where I went to see the big sculpture a couple of weeks ago.  Geologists call it the Moutere Depression.  It was formed by faulting and then filled with gravel by an ancient river system flowing northwards between 2.8 million and 500,000 years ago.  The Motueka and Waimea Rivers and their tributaries have cut into the gravel hills, creating many small valleys.  Behind are the Western Arthur Ranges that I photographed the snow on.

I Heard It Through The Grapevine    Norman Whitfield/Barrett Strong

. . . Heard it through the grapevine
Not much longer would you be mine
Oh I heard it through the grapevine
Oh I'm just about to lose my mind
Honey, honey yeah
(Heard it through the grapevine)
(Not much longer would you be my baby, ooh, ooh, ooh)
