Deliveries
We went to the venetian island of Murano today, famous for it's glass production. There was plenty of it to view including some huge sculptures sited in squares and thoroughfares across the island. I've made reference to one of these in my Blipfolio as it rather reminded me of flames, although there was nothing that I could read to verify that. Naturally, several of the shops were devoted to selling glassware and it was also possible to see glass blowing in the various workshops. Unfortunately though, photography was actively discouraged by the craftsmen.
However, I've decided that today's blip will not relate to Murano glasss since I simply must comment on this splendid boat that DHL use to deliver their parcels. Ever since I arrived here in Venice I've been fascinated by how effectively the city operates without road transportation. Cars and lorries are wholely replaced by water taxis, water buses and delivery boats just like the one depicted here.
