The Mull of Kintyre
We tried to find a local nature reserve but it was over miles of unmade road so we turned back as it was better suited to a 4x4. It was a scenic ride though.
On the way we passed Nessie in agarden, very cleverly made from tyres and a piece of plastic piping (extra).
After a journey with some very steep hairpin bends along the way we arrived at The Mull of Kintyre. Some bikers (60 somethings) arrived and were playing Mull of Kintyre on a phone as they set off. No sign of Paul McCartney though!
We set off down to see the lighthouse which was 350meteres below the car park. We walked most of the way down but weren't sure that we'd both make it back up!! It was a great sight, so remote.
We drove to Keil Point and ate our sandwiches while watching the pouring rain. When it had stopped we got out and explored the seafront , caves and St. Columba's footprints and well.
Afterwards we drove back to Campbeltown to our accomodation.
