Sainte Mere Eglise

We are now on the way home having said goodbye to Charlie the dog, Mystie, Coco and the ginger boy Plank, or Eddie, my preferred name for him.

A wet start to the day improving into hot sunshine by early afternoon. On the way north we called in to this well known village however it was very busy, a bank holiday Friday in France is not a good time to head for a WW2 site and museum.
I didn’t feel happy taking a close up of the mock parachutists hanging from the church roof, (apparently when President Obama visited the parachutists was made to look black, I don’t know if this is true?).

We arrived in Poole about 10.00 pm and spent the night camping in the van on the ferry port car park. We had a great time away and will gradually drive north to arrive home Monday late evening.
