Balsam Fir

You can't fail to notice this Balsam Fir tree growing in Greenbank Gardens. The new needle-like leaves are a beautiful vibrant colour and the large seed cones are a very deep purple turning brown in the autumn as the winged seeds are released.

Spent part of the afternoon in the garden removing some of my Japanese Anemone which has started to spread and is now growing in places where I don't want it.
