Flying the flag
It was slightly breezy on our walk this morning, just enough to open out the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee flag on the flagpole outside our church so that you could see the central emblem. As it happens, there will be quite a few people who will find it very difficult to get to our church tomorrow because RideLondon is taking place, and main roads in the area will be closed for many hours.
Meanwhile, we’re really enjoying having the Traveller here with us, coming in and out at all times and hoovering up with alacrity the plates of food that are left for him in the fridge. It’s definitely just like old times! Tomorrow afternoon (RideLondon permitting) he will be leaving us to drive to Center Parcs to join son #1 and family for a few days.
Tonight we’re off to son #2’s house to babysit our 2-year old granddaughter while her Daddy takes Mummy and her 4-year old sister to Stansted. They are flying out to Poland tomorrow but won’t be able to get to the airport then because of … RideLondon … so are having to stay overnight at a hotel. We shall be helping son #2 look after two-year old H for the four days that Mummy is away. Expect to see lot of blip tags saying ‘tired’ or, more probably ‘exhausted’.
