Where's my mate?

After yesterday's comparable goings ons, perhaps this skylark is feeling left out. He was singing his heart out as we approached the bird and his stick, but as we got closer he started looking about, as if for reinforcements...?

I did think skylarks only sang on the wing, but today proved otherwise. Perhaps he was singing for a mate. Hopefully one not quite so 'in your face'.
