Green alkanet

I photographed this hairy leaved rather curiously named plant while we were on our walk at High Beach this afternoon.  We had a very nice lunch at a nearby pub before taking a walk on a supposed 'accessible' route.  Unfortunately the route has not been very well maintained over the past couple of years and so is not as 'accessible' as it once was.  We nevertheless had a lovely walk on a sunny blue sky afternoon.
In extras, one of the splendid forest beeches of which there are large a number throughout the forest and also my 'alternative flower' in the shape of Violet dressed in red, white and blue ready for a day of Jubilee themed activities on her last day of school before they break before Half Term.
