Barny

I was up and out very early this morning, and was rewarded with this sight - a Barn Owl bringing back breakfast for the chicks.  You do get to see Barn Owls during the day, particularly if they have young to feed.  It was pretty windy yesterday, so I imagine that the owl may not have been able to hunt successfully, and had to make up for it today.

You cannot imagine how excited I am about this shot. I've never managed to get a decent photo of an owl before.  My one previous attempt produced a very fine shot of the owl's tail feathers as they departed into the the distance.  I've added another shot of it hunting as an extra, its not such a good shot as the main because of that busy background, but you do get to see the top of the wings and tail and hell - its a Barn Owl hunting in the wild :-)
