Birthday Flowers

These are the glorious flowers that were sent to me by my granddaughters and their Mum and Dad who live in Melbourne.  They are absolutely magnificent and I was delighted when they arrived today.  It had been a bit of a saga for the poor florist who had tried to deliver them on my birthday but had become a bit panicky when she found herself on a dirt road on a dark rainy night and couldn’t find Wombat Hollow.  It’s not the first time someone has had difficulty finding the address but usually the good old satellite navigation does the trick.  We have family coming up for the weekend so it has turned out to be perfect timing. 

The best news to come out of the election last Saturday was the announcement today that the Biloela Family who have been in detention for over five years will be allowed to return to the township who so warmly embraced them originally..  The youngest daughter who was born in Australia will have her fifth birthday in Biloela (her first in freedom) when they are reunited with a community who have fought tooth and nail to have them returned to their town.  Good on you Albo!!
