Moine House
We left Orkney on the ferry at 11.00am and carried on West along the NC500 towards Ullapool.
Halfway along the road cross the boggy marsh land between Loch Eriboll and Tongue Village stands what is left of Moine House, a once impressive two bedroom house with a sizeable loft to house travellers as they slogged along the road. The Moine is a vast area ofd heather and peat moss that previously deterred travellers and trade.
We are staying in a lovely shepherds hut, near Drumbeg, for the next few nights and exploring the area a bit more.
