Marlow Bridge

We drove to Marlow to meet our friends P&P for lunch. It was so good to see them, they are very dear friends of long standing. We ate at Cote, one of a chain of restaurants with French style food.
After lunch we walked down to the River Thames. It is a busy stretch of the river and it was fun watching the children feeding the swans and ducks. There is a statue of the rower Steve Redgrave who went to school in Marlow. (Several pictures in extras)
Marlow is about twenty miles from us but such is the weight of traffic in the area that it took us two hours each way! The M25 was very slow so we chose other routes, but it was chaos everywhere. I wonder whether it was because it was a Friday, or is it always like this?
