It is Karen's birthday. We had planned to surprise her at 9.00 a.m. with Caroline, but she's invigilating an exam. CMC baked a chocolate cake
Passengers spill off the MV Graemsay at the Hoy Pier. At the pierhead the Current Mrs Creel's brother (and s-i-l) can be seen waiting with their taxis. Light maint awaits at the Bolthole before the committee meeting at the Hoy Kirk p.m.
Prior to boarding there was confusion at the Stromness Pierhead. Once inside the cabin CMC asked me if I'd noticed Mark Morrison was part of the crew. I hadn't. I was keen to ask him for his faither who is critically ill in Brora. I went up on deck and said to Mark 'Whit like, how is your faither'? He looked somewhat surprised. 'Me faither? He died some 12 years back. Who do you think l am'? Something told me that this wasn't Mark Morrison. Once we had arrived in Hoy (we didn't cross the International Dateline), l left CMC, and her team of lawyers to explain.
It will be obvious to lifetime subscribers to Iain@creel that Fitz, Ewart Omand, Evan Norquy, Magnus Thomson and others make a guest appearance on this Blip. Identify them all and you can win a signed copy of 'Broon - the Early Years.'
Back at HQ we prepared to venture to Birsay to dance to the Peter Wood Band. Featuring great fiddle work by Andy Kain.
