MEET DAKOTA

At the local high school, today is Community Service day.  Each high school student has a "service" component as part of his/her graduation requirements. Several opportunities to serve are made available to the student body and today was service day.

One group decided to do some physical labor at the school forest and help to eradicate an infestation of invasive plants called Buckthorn (Rhamnus cathartica)...see extras.

My friend D came along and brought his dog Dakota. I felt obliged to make a doggy portrait. Beautiful animal....and nice as well.
