Thank You For the Days ..

I Do Like To Be Beside the Seaside

It wasn't exactly balmy at Portobello this morning - but there was enough sun to bring out the hardy souls.  I walked the length of the Prom and back and only had to scamper the last few yards (to the shelter of the Greek cafe) before the showers began.

Fortified by coffee and baklava, I called at the Portobello Bookshop, an independent which opened a couple of years ago, and which I hadn't been into. It was worth the wait - beautifully displayed and carefully selected stock. It was only right that I made up for not getting there earlier - I came out with three books : no doubt I'll blip them when I'm short of a shot.

Feeling guilty about the baklava, I got some salads from Aldi for my supper. One is beetroot in vinaigrette. TM has been listening to Michael Moseley singing the health benefits of beetroot - it will do wonders for my energy levels apparently. It didn't do much for my stress levels when I discovered the container had leaked and turned my shopping, and the bag pink - and stinking of vinegar.

I hope it's going to be worth it, I don't even like beetroot ....

Around 10pm, showers were sweeping in over the Forth, but the sun was still shining.
