Victorious sponge

This is no ordinary cake.
It is a prize presented to me for a football season long competition.

I have reported in these pages before, that a friend and I have an (un)friendly challenge based on the results of Tottenham Hotspur F.C. and a North London club who shall not be named.

The complex rules of the game resulted in a triumphant victory for Spurs and as usual, the prize is a cake or pie of the loser’s choice.

The significance of the candle is that Spurs finished in 4th place in the English Premier League, ahead of the “other” team.
