Enjoying our Christmas present in Temecula
After an early start from Big Bear we found ourselves 6000 feet lower and 35F warmer at Wilson Creek Winery in Temecula ready to enjoy our Christmas present from Chris and De'Shaun.
First was a 90 minute horse ride around the vineyards and citrus groves followed by a lunch and rounded off by wine tasting.
The ride was wonderful, the horses amicable but always on the lookout for something to eat. Great scenery and memorable scents from the grapefruit and orange trees that were in flower and also had plenty of fruit. Tasted good too.
A very enjoyable lunch in the Creekside Grill. I had pork sliders followed by a large beef sandwich, Susan had a chicken sandwich. Lots of bread and crackers. Endless water. Such a filling meal that we didn't eat anything for the rest of the day.
The wine tasting consisted of trying 5 different types - red, white, sparkling and fortified. Some nice tasting wine but very expensive.
After enjoying the winery and the sunshine we made our way back to San Diego and an evening digesting that lunch.
