Marvelous Colin

Today we rang the Church bells for a local couple who were married today at St Nicholas, Gt Kimble, my home tower and were I have the dubious privilege of being Tower Captain. We have a ring of six bells 2 of which were cast is 1587!! We are a struggling band with only 4 ringers but manage to ring for most Sunday services. Today we had help from our ringing friends from a nearby tower so we were able to ring all six bells.

This is Colin, our oldest ringer at 80, he has been a loyal and dependable member of the tower for many years, way before I joined and continues to enjoy ringing, golf, rock concerts, meals out and generally being out and about! One of his may catch phrases is the word Marvelous, which he uses to describe anything that is in his opinion........Marvelous!
