Artist Extraordinaire

I have been working with Ken Brown for over a year now, photographing his art-works for the publication of a book to promote his talent beyond the boundaries of Chapletown, Leeds.
2200 miles and 20 photo-shoots later, I have gained a deep understanding of his work, his politics and vision, the struggles and triumphs of his life.
Ken is an artist, a poet and a master craftsman - he has so far produced over 150 individually made chess boxes and has carved all chess pieces by hand... approx.400 paintings, sketches and drawings in oils, acrylics, pastels, charcoals etc..... I have been truly humbled by his talent as an artist and his incredible ability to survive the diaspora with hope and humour.

I have been blessed to have met him, though he drives me crazy at times.
