L'ancienne Bibliothèque De Mondrian

Today started with another early morning run, this time along the riverbank in the village - it was a gloriously sunlit spring morning and we didn't see another soul. It was just great to be out in the fresh air and so peaceful. No traffic noise, just a cool breeze and the sights and sounds of the river as it flowed past. Lovely!
After a suitable period of recuperation it was then on to the usual Sunday food shop followed by a pint at our favourite hostelry in town. The sun was out when we arrived it was really quite warm so we decided to go all continental and sit out on the roof terrace to imbibe our liquid refreshment.
Today's image was taken on the way back to the car and is what used to the old library in Maidstone (it's now been converted into office space). In my opinion it's a striking bit of 70's architecture and I think the coloured panels have a passing resemblance to a Mondrian artwork (the title is French for Mondrian's old library - mind you I've just remembered he's Dutch and not French - oh well!) which I really like in combination with the reflections of the sky in the windows. Just to mix it up a bit I thought I would go with an off kilter angle for this shot - I think it adds to the 70"s vibe!
The extra is of a Union Jack flowerbed (planted as part of the Queen's platinum jubilee celebrations) in the grounds of the museum just up the road from the old library.
