Off to the theatre
Came up early for breakfast with Neil in his swanky hotel but he overslept so we just had coffee in the atrium. After that a busy day in the office before going back to meet him and Nadya and off to The Old Vic to see Bertie Carvel playing Trump in Mike Bartlett’s play The 47th. Bertie starred in our production of Neil’s show The Sister (and in my Baghdad Central) but they had never met (Neil lives in New Zealand) so both were very excited by the encounter. Bertie’s performance was astonishing and we followed up with a jolly drink in the bar and a lot of fun. After that I had nightcap in the hotel bar before they walked me to my cheap hotel in Westminster. Bed at 2am!
