From Start to Finish
We were up early so we could get ready to hit the road. My mother had a mid-day appointment with a vein specialist in the next county. I snagged a photo of a dahlia while it was still covered with rain. Love this color. Looks like something is eating the leaves. We left home around 8:30 am. Hubby had a few things to do with the camper and then we headed north. We gave ourselves extra time in case of traffic issues. Hubby took us to a diner for brunch. Oh my goodness. Those pancakes were huge and equally big on taste. My breakfast will make me three meals. Hubby said his Tex-Mex omelette was tasty also. We got to the office early for the 12:30 appointment, and they quickly took Momma to the exam room. We were there until 3:20 pm. My mother needed a treat after all the tests; we stopped at DQ for ice cream. We set up a time to get her second COVID booster on the way home; that was our next stop. Not sure why, but there were posters saying the pharmacy had to close for unexpected circumstances. So that we would not miss Brooklyn’s school concert, my granddaughter Abby took Momma home. The concert went smoothly. Couldn’t help looking at the fourth graders performing and thinking of other parents/grandparents in Texas tonight who will never have that opportunity again. May God be with that community. Brooklyn wore a mask while playing her viola and when singing in the chorus since her Mom has COVID. We did also because there are several students in the school with the virus. This has been Kim’s worst day with it. She cannot take the pills because they can increase your BP; hers is already out of control. It felt good to get home and make a PB&J for dinner. Hug the ones you love. We were thrilled to be there today for the generations older and younger than us. Thanks for stopping by. “In the family sandwich, the older people and the younger ones can recognize one another as the bread. Those in the middle are, for a time, the meat”. - Anna Quindlen
