Piano lesson!

This evening my friend Heather came over to give me a piano lesson. I have always wanted to be able to play the piano and in my early 20s I bought a part works publication called 'Play it today' - in 40 lessons. Each came with a cassette and the book. The idea was that I would be able to teach myself. I managed to get to lesson 7, way back then. But always impatient to move on, I never properly practiced and nailed each exercise, before rushing on to the next bit. Heather and I work together, although no longer sit next to each other like we did in the office, but just see each other on a screen. But luckily for me, Heather only lives in Sheringham and plays piano, so offered to teach me. She may regret taking me on!

We chatted a lot, wandered round my garden and also looked at the new kitchen. Eventually after a cup of tea, we got down to some tinkling. I had practiced a bit yesterday and Monday, and so we have settled on lesson 3 as a starting point.

I have lots of practicing to do....this time I'm going to stick with it! Half an hour a day I'm going to aim for.

It was nice to have this time catching up face to face, and we agreed we must do it more regularly and with Lucy too, our other pensions partner in crime! Summer evening walks 2022, here we come!!
