Hide and seek

On his own
But supported by
At least 50 senators
Over 200 house members
and the NRA
He walked past the good guys with guns that day
Armed to the teeth
Protected from within
Crawling out from beneath
Their rocks and stones
Offering more thoughts and prayer
As if they really care
As dollar signs light up their eyes
But all of this is no surprise
To regular folk who believe in human rights
The right to choose to live
To read to the books they need to read
And not to watch their children bleed
When dna is what they need
To know.
