Long service…

We attended a special AGM this evening and hubby was presented with a certificate for “exceptional service” in recognition of his 56 years as Presiding Officer for local and general elections. A glad rags evening and a very happy one. Not least that this council was meeting in person for the first time in three years.

A young re-elected Mayor and actually, after listening to his speech, we rather wish we lived back in his borough. We had a good conversation with him during the reception. A very different borough to the one D spent the majority of his working years.
