Dog rose

Ooops nearly a week away from Blip. thanks to the stress of researching and buying a new (to me) car. Thank goodness it's done! I've hardly been out walking with my camera until today, when I revisited the fabulous Upwood Meadows, a Wildlife Trust reserve in Cambridgeshire. It's a very special place full of early orchids, clovers, yellow rattle, cow parsley,  vetch, grasses and buttercups. During a brief sunny spell this solitary dog rose caught my eye (metaphorically speaking, I hasten to add) - it was a blip opportunity that couldn't be missed.
The extras: sun shining through dog rose thorns and the weird light of a very heavy sky.

The meadow visit thankfully kept me away from the news - obviously our crime minister wasn't going to resign, to apologise and mean it, or to learn anything humanly useful from the SG report. It very much feels like we're being "led" by a one-man wrecking ball, aided and abetted by a bunch of a spineless fools who support his every failure. Very depressing for our futures, short and long term.

I hope you are all well and as shocked as I am that it's June next week already.
